Sylhet Strikers and Comilla Victorians finished the league stage with 18 points to their tally, finishing first and second in the points table respectively. This now gives these two franchises another chance to qualify for the finals, but their main focus will be to win their first qualifier on February 12 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in a high-profile clash.
Back in Sylhet, the franchise won nine of their twelve league games. In the last game, their bowlers made a good impression as captain Mashrafe Mortaz's side prevailed by six goals. Bowling first, they limited Khulna to just 113 runs while Tanzim Hasan Sakib scored three and Rubel Hossain and Imad Wasim two each.Meanwhile, Zakir Hasan scored half a century with the racquet and Stumper Mushfiqur Rahim had 39 of 35 assists. Eventually, if they can repeat the same performance, Sylhet could qualify for the finals.
The Comilla Victorians will not make things easier for the leaders, however. They beat the Rangpur Riders by 70 runs in their last game and cemented their position as runners-up. Litton Das (47 assists on 33) and Khusdil Shah (40* on 20 assists) played excellent cricket as Mustafizur Rahman scored three goals with the ball. They look very strong on paper, so the team hopes for their chances in the first qualifier.
